German authorities and Bundestag deputies praise the achievements made by Albania, especially the first results of the vetting process and the prosecution of senior public officials. German authorities also support the continuation of reforms that Albania has undertaken to strengthen the rule of law, fight against crime, illegal emigration and to create the necessary conditions for economic development.
This was stressed during the visit that Albanian Justice minister, Etilda Gjonaj has held in Berlin, where she was received by several senior officials of the German state.
During these meetings, minister Gjonaj briefed the representatives of these institutions with the developments in Albania and the efforts being made to strengthen the rule of law, fight against corruption and organized crime. The meetings also discussed the proposal of the European Commission to start accession talks with Albania and the deep reforms that the government has undertaken not only as obligation for this process, but also for Albania’s European development. /ibna/
