In January 2018, FYROM’s population was 2.075.300, registering an increase compared to the same period a year ago, when its population was 2.073.700. These figures are suggested by the EU’s office for statistics, Eurostat.
The last census carried out in the country was in 2001. The head of the State Authority for Statistics has declared that the new census of the population will take place in 2020.
According to Eurostat, in 2018, the European Union had 512.6 million people. The increase of the population by 1.1 million people mainly relates to the arrival of refugees. /ibna/
