Albanian military forces will continue their mission as part of NATO’s Sea Guardian operation in the Aegean Sea for another year.
This was declared today by Albanian Defence minister, Olta Xhaçka. According to the minister, Albanian Navy has been restructured and integrated in the other structures of the country’s Armed Forces, by becoming part of the NATO defence system at sea.
“It’s been two years now since this mission has started and our presence there has been appreciated by the heads of this operation. Our navy officers have turned into real heroes by saving thousands of lives at sea. We are determined to continue next year and we will be present in this region along with our allies”, the Defence minister said, adding that “our long-term plans include the development and growth of operational capacities at sea”. /ibna/
